NASA to map the surface of an asteroid phys.org v

NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft will launch September 2016 and travel to a near-Earth asteroid known as Bennu to harvest a sample of surface material and return it to Earth for study. The science team will be looking for something special. Ideally, the sample will come from a region in which the building blocks of life may be found.

So much time, effort, and money has been spent ignoring what God told us about "where" (earth) and out of "what" (dust) we came (er, were "formed") :) (Gen 2:7) Still, fascinating watching these technological masterpieces being hurdled out into space.

A professor is working with NASA to 3D print houses on the moon — here’s his plan businessinsider

New California law requires registration of all 3D-printed guns digitaltrends

The serial number, or another form of identification, will have to be attached to a homemade firearm in some fashion. In order to obtain the identifier, the owner of a 3D-printed firearm will have to pass a background check. Interestingly, the law leginfo.legislature.ca.gov also forbids the sale or transfer of a homemade firearm from a California resident to another party. This limitation is attributed to the lack of quality standards of homemade firearms as well as the potential of widespread adoption of plastic firearms.
