Washington’s Supreme Court Imposes Its Progressive Faith on a Christian Florist nationalreview

If you care about the Bill of Rights, the rights of conscience, or even the English language, there’s a chance that this morning you felt a disturbance in the Force — as if the Founders cried out in rage and were suddenly silenced. That disturbance was the Washington Supreme Court’s oppressive ruling in State of Washington v. Arlene’s Flowers, a case holding that a florist was bound by state law to use her artistic talents to design floral arrangements to celebrate what she viewed as an immoral event: a gay wedding.

US scientists back gene editing but warn against 'designer babies' telegraph.co.uk

The report on modifications to inherited human DNA is a landmark since it amounts to an official sanctioning of medical research that aims to add, remove or replace DNA in human egg cells, sperm or embryos.

Underwater bomb-defusing robot arms to make a splash with the US Navy newatlas

The Underwater Dual Manipulator system, as the company calls it, is designed to dismantle improvised explosive devices (IEDs) stashed away under boats, bridges, piers, and other underwater structures that regular bomb robots just can't get to. Navy divers could still help out, but ideally, the system would keep them out of the water entirely.

F-35 Scores Impressive 15:1 Kill Ratio at Red Flag War Games popularmechanics

The F-35 Lightning II's advanced avionics software was the star of the show, as multiple F-35s successfully compiled data into a detailed layout of the battlefield with each individual threat pinpointed. The stealthy aircraft could then slip into weak spots in the defensive layout and take out SAM targets, opening up the space for follow-on forces of legacy fighters. Even when the F-35s ran out of munitions, F-22 and fourth-generation fighter pilots wanted the aircraft to remain in the combat zone, soaking up data and porting target info to the older fighters.

Coast Guard Tracking Russian Spy Ship Near Submarine Base In Groton courant

"The U.S. Coast Guard is aware of a Russian Federation-flagged vessel transiting international waters off the East Coast of the United States, as we are of all vessels approaching the U.S. The ship has not entered U.S. territorial waters, which extend 12 miles out to sea," the Coast Guard said in a statement. "We respect freedom of navigation exercised by all nations beyond the territorial sea of a coastal state consistent with international law. The Coast Guard continues to coordinate with federal agency partners to monitor maritime contacts operating in the vicinity of U.S. shores."

"I wouldn't make a mountain out of a molehill," [Retired Cmdr. David Candler] said. "It's a ship, but it's not the Great White Fleet. And it is not uncommon for all kinds of ships from all kinds of places to be all over the world. A military ship up here all by itself is kind of unusual. But these kinds of ships — and we do the same thing — go all over the place to stay reasonably accustomed to the waters."

See if you can count how many times that article mentiones Trump, though not at all about him :) Also see Russian spy ship lurks off Connecticut coast cnn

Kim Jong-nam: jovial half-brother who lived with sword of Damocles over head theguardian

The South China Morning Post quoted an unnamed source who had known Kim for 10 years as saying: “He knew his life was at risk … and he was aware his brother was after him.”

On 13 February, Kim’s fears came true. After spending a week in Malaysia, police say he was waiting for a flight back to Macau when he was attacked with what appears to have been some sort of chemical spray. The 45-year-old died en route to hospital.
