Sixty U.S. cities earned perfect scores on a nationwide ranking of protections for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) people, despite an array of anti-gay efforts by state governments, the Human Rights Campaign said on Monday.

“They’ve closed our accounts in Britain. All our accounts. ‘The decision is not subject to review.’ Praise be to freedom of speech!,” editor Margarita Simonyan tweeted in Russian. “The outcome of the day: we closed the account in Britain. The money is not locked, but the bank announced that it will stop serving us, without explanation,” she added later.

While RT is often used by independent sites reporting on world news (I've used it on this site), it's an open secret that it is used for Russian propaganda. I see a lot of sites that compile world news, particularly YouTube channels, rely heavily on RT as a source...this story is also a good reminder to double-check what you hear and see :)

Researchers from MIT mit.edu and Harvard Medical School harvard.edu have developed a biocompatible and highly stretchable optical fiber made from hydrogel — an elastic, rubbery material composed mostly of water. The fiber, which is as bendable as a rope of licorice, may one day be implanted in the body to deliver therapeutic pulses of light or light up at the first sign of disease.
